There are two types of rhinoplasty procedures known as open and closed rhinoplasty. In open rhinoplasty, incisions are not made inside the nose and are made in the vertical strip separating the nostrils. This complex procedure, used for major nose reshaping, is often referred as open rhinoplasty. Closed rhinoplasty procedures are used for minor reshaping of your nose and the incisions are made inside the nose. Nose skin is separated from the cartilage and bone. Once exposed, cartilage and bone can be reshaped, removed, rearranged or augmented to achieve the desired shape of your nose.
