Eyelid surgery

Eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is a cosmetic surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat deposits from the lower or upper eyelids. Eyelid surgery is also an effective procedure for improving your eyesight, if your vision is obstructed by the sagging of upper eyelids. Eyelid surgery does not remove facial wrinkles or crow’s feet nor does it eliminate the dark circles under your eyes. The eyelids will be sore and you have to lubricate your eyes with ointment. Cold compresses can be used to treat bruising and swelling. Bruising and swelling take two weeks to resolve, but several months are required for the final results. Stitches can be removed after a few weeks, depending on the type of surgery performed on your eyes.

It will take some time before you can resume your normal activities after the surgery. You may not be able to watch television for 2-3 days and all strenuous activities to be avoided for three weeks.
